The color matching process is conducted using formulation predictions generated by state of the art electronic systems or, where required, by actual experimental color matching in the laboratory using customer specific systems.

Custom Color Matching for Thermoset Plastics

Components of the final formulation, such as resin and filler, can contribute to the final color. Therefore, the color match should be performed in the final formulation, or one which is similar.

To obtain a fast and accurate color match, it is necessary that the compounder / formulator and colorant supplier work closely together. Some preperation may be necessary prior to a color match.
